Ric received another scouting award on Thursday evening much to his surprise! Every year the District gives out one of these awards to someone who has done a lot for scouting and since he has been involved for many, many years and recently more so, he was honored with this award. Apparently, it is the highest award given before you receive the Silver Beaver Award which I suspect won't be in the too far future for him.
On a side note, it was alarming to me to see that all the people at this yearly banquet were all older men. Ric could be considered younger-to-middle age with this group. There didn't seem to be any men who volunteer much of their time to the community for the Scouting Organization under the age of 40. There were a few men there that are members of the Church and serve in the scouting program in their wards but when they get released do they stop? Hope the future for the Boy Scouts will get brighter.

As someone who has spent many a campout and scout activity with Ric over the years, I can say this award is well-deserved. I have met few men more devoted to our young men. Proud to know ya!
