because of how rusty it was.
Yes, front loading machines can't take it.
Yes, 2 different parts were needed to repair the damage.
Yes, it took that long for the parts to be ordered and replaced.
Yes, we actually bought the extended warranty on the machine.
Yes, we think we were smart doing that for once!
No, the daughter who goes through bobby pins like crazy and
left a trail of them all over the house including her pants pockets,
no longer lives with us. :)

hahaha! How long has Katie been living outside our home? like 4 1/2 years..yesterday as I was vacuuming her old room in preparation for the carpet cleaning guy, I found 2 bobbie pins! not to mention the ones she leaves behind when she visits!
Oh my heck! I can't believe that a little thing like that can cause so much trouble! From now on I'm checking pockets!
