On Saturday, Ric received his
WoodBadge Scouting award and got his beads! There were 12 people in all who went to this particular week-long camp and then needed to complete 5 projects to finish the requirements. It is kind of a big deal for Scouters and Ric finally decided after all these years to do it. At the summer camp they were divided into groups named after forest animals which they will always and forever be a part of that group. At the induction on Saturday there plenty of past members who were there to help "bead" the new ones and they sat in groups according to their original assigned animal from their camps of long ago. We got to hear each group be called one by one such as: "Are there any Beavers, Bears, Antelopes in the room?" etc and then they had to answer with some sort of call they made up. Ric is a Bear and his group growled with clawing actions too. During the whole ceremony, they sang some pretty goofy songs which
eerily reminded the girls and I of some stake girls camp songs only with baritone voices!
Congrats to Ric and all the hard work he put into this award. :)
