This is our oldest child Chad
(cute and yes, single). He is currently in his 4th year in the College of Architecture at the University of Arizona. A few weeks ago when the new semester started he was asked to be a part of something huge and fantastic. The program he is now a part of is a Solar Decathlon. This is a worldwide competition that involves only 20 Universities and the UofA is privileged to be a part of it. Chad is one of 17 students who are designing a solar operated home for a competition that will take place in October of this year in Washington DC. They will finish designing it, get it built here, disassemble it and have it shipped on two tractor trailers
(one of the many rules) to DC which they will follow behind the whole way.
For more information on this, go to
http://www.solardecathlon.org/We were able to go visit him at the school for FHE on Monday night and have him show us the prototypes and ask tons of questions. This project also gives him a paying summer job instead of him trying to find an internship this summer in the rocky economy.
We are excited and proud parents when we see his enthusiasim for his career choice. It sure looks like a lot of fun!

Very exciting. What a great experience for him. Congrats.
I am so glad that Chad is doing something that he seems to love so much. I think that is the most important thing to do when choosing a career is find something that makes you happy and want to go to work.
How exciting. Hope everything goes well.
He is so cute! I added you to the list. Thanks I love to keep up!
