For those of you outside the state of California and Arizona, we both have quite the heated propositions to vote for next month. The Church and many members have even become quite involved both vocally and monetarily because it is just simply, "a moral issue." Many other faiths have also had a strong presence with this measure.

The Arizona proposition is only 20 words long and so simple to understand and
the best way to know what is says is to simply read the language: "Only a union of one man and one woman shall be valid or recognized as a marriage in this state."

Each ward unit in Arizona were sent some yard posters, window posters, brochures etc. for those who want to be involved. There is a door-knocking campaign with talking points that you can volunteer for also. On Wednesday evening (at least in the city of Tucson - not sure about state wide) members can volunteer by ward and set up a calling bank and make phone calls throughout the city.

In today's paper there was an article (tucked on the very back page of section a - of course) that says the opponents for the measure have raised $355,000 so far. The supporters have raised $6.9 million so far!!

We volunteered to put up a sign in our yard and so far it has been up for 2 weeks and no one has done anything to it!
